ManufacturingDanzer Group’s 5 veneer mills and 6 lumber facilities in North America and Europe are certified to the acknowledged standard of ISO 14001:2004 for environmental management (The certificate can be downloaded from the right).
The facilities operate an Environmental & Safety Management System (ESMS). This means that each facility conducted analysis of their impacts and legal requirements. They implemented procedures and measures for safety and the environment. Significant aspects are to control and reduce boiler emissions, waste and wastewater as well as water consumption.
Regular training, monitoring and review by management ensure continual improvement. Objectives and targets are set annually and compliance audits are also conducted. Each facility is audited by an independent inspection company every three years.
Danzer Group manufacturing processes are designed to maximize the utilization of the timber resource by continually upgrading equipment to reduce wood waste. Depending on the facility, any wood waste generated may be used onsite for steam generation in a state-of-the-art boiler or sold for other products such as mulch. We do not use chemical additives, thus our products and our waste waters are free of synthetic pollutants. Danzer Group ESMS teams regularly investigate opportunities for pollution prevention and waste minimization through material substitution, process changes and increased efficiency. |
