Danzer Group offers over 300 species of high-quality veneer and timber to our customers. Thus we procure wood globally, but mainly in North America, Europe and Africa. In order to ensure responsible sourcing we apply the Responsible Procurement Policy (see downloads): Minimum requirement for us is legality, followed by a progressive approach towards sustainability of the forest of origin. Eventually, forest certification is preferred.

After a risk assessment of each country of origin we decide on the following: How much in detail we check our suppliers? Do we check all suppliers or only a sample? How do we compile the received data? What measures do we take to push suppliers to sustainable forest management?

We check our supply in the framework of an Environmental & Safety Management System (ESMS). Our ESMS systems are set up according to the environmental ISO 14001:2004 standard. Direct procurement in Africa is ISO 14001-certified by an independent inspection company. The certificate can be downloaded in the column on the right.
