EuropeDanzer Group’s Responsible Procurement Policy (See section policies) applies to our procurement of European species (e.g. Beech, Oak, Birch, Ash). All suppliers must sign Danzer Europe Veneer’s strict purchasing conditions. Check and control requires two implementation approaches based on a risk assessment of each country of origin.
The first approach refers to our main sourcing countries. These are countries with profound forest legislation and sustainability tradition (e.g. France and Germany). Certification to PEFC or FSC is widespread there. It can be sourced at a low risk.
The second approach refers to eastern sourcing countries like Ukraine or Russia where the gaps between legislation and enforcement of the forest law are evident. The sourcing risk is unspecified.
Ongoing integration in our Environmental & Safety Management System (ESMS/ ISO 14001) for procurement will ensure this happens. |
